Here's a shot of the heads we're working on , its a 113 casting that comes from the super beetles (1302/1303) significant difference it has vs its 040 counterpart and the 311 (type3) casting
is the lack of guide boss inside the intake ports (seen in the pic)
Since it is known that a 35.5mm intake and 32mm exhaust is very much capable of generating 125hp conservatively , and by math using the CSA available of the said intake Valve size + 89-90% throat ratio
it is capable of 135hp , we know we dont need a bigger valve for this project
which would help us keep velocity high for better torque spread
development work/target is as follows :
-clean up the casting flaws, smooth and radius the ports to improve velocity and flow
-achieve the above mentioned, without enlarging the ports too much and increasing port volume
the lack of displacement at 1585cc would not need such big ports , which could cause a lazy powerband
